In times where the speed and intensity of economic change has increased and will continue to increase, managing the most important resource, people, is a decisive factor for successful and profitable business endeavors.
We know from our 20 years of consulting experience that human resources management today is about three key questions:
How do I find the right executives and/or specialists?
How can I optimally promote and assess employees?
How do you professionally deal with the sensitive subject of separation?
As corporate practice today increasingly involves integrated human resources management, we are communicating this with our new brand name:
We have a new organizational/consulting structure in which our core areas are Recruitment, Development and Outplacement. We are successfully doing business with 300 employees, 200 of which are consultants.
Slow beginnings, rapid development
It all began in 1985 with one single person: Eberhard von Rundstedt. With a law degree and management experience from his positions at Ruhrgas AG, MAN AG, Feldmühle AG and Arthur Young, he founded a consulting firm in Dusseldorf, Germany. The company's mission: To be the only licensee of Drake Beam Morin, DBM Inc., one of the leading outplacement consulting firms worldwide, and dedicate all resources exclusively to outplacement consulting.
Outplacement consulting following employee separation was virtually unknown in Germany at this time. Cultivating awareness of outplacement was initially a slow process, which had to do with labor laws and negative preconceptions. Protective provisions by legislators offered executives the right to generous financial compensation upon separation.
Outplacement, according to companies and departing employees alike, was considered to be a kind of "last resort" for those with weak skills. This was a serious misconception, which no longer exists today.
Despite its rocky beginnings, the company opened branch offices in Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg between 1987 and 1990. Later, offices were opened in Berlin, Detmold, Hanover, Nuremberg and Stuttgart. Revenues rose steadily and the human resources market continued to demand new services. The company was a trend-setter in the 90s, as the first company to offer executive search services alongside outplacement consulting.
Clients also increasingly asked our advice about evaluating the strengths of individual employees and teams using diagnostic processes. Today, we offer individual and group coaching.
International collaboration
Through the exclusive partnership with DBM, especially early on, we were able to establish ourselves quickly internationally and benefit greatly from the methodology of outplacement from the USA, its country of origin. We have now successfully gained ground in the German market, which has allowed us to continue our outplacement work as von Rundstedt HR Partners. This naturally and explicitly compromises collaboration with DBM, represented in 85 countries worldwide. This collaboration has been replaced by the BPI Group, a partnership of four international leading HR firms. The BPI Group spans over more than 40 countries and employs 2000 consultants.
