When Companies Use Potential Analyses

There may be various reasons for potential analysis. We have compiled a series of sample cases for you in which companies have used potential analyses.

Replacing employees (Assessment Center)
Most large international companies use potential analysis for selecting candidates, as it is very effective. Interviews offer an initial opportunity to ascertain a person's motivation, attitude and values. Systematic, functional diagnostics, however, enable companies to assess the individual strengths and weakness of candidates using method variables and differentiation techniques.

A clear match of job profiles and applicant profiles can be clearly ascertained using potential analysis. This approach minimizes the danger of selecting the wrong person for the job, which is costly, by significantly increasing the "accuracy" of recruiting decisions.

Internal employment applications (Development Center)
For internal applications, a neutral, objective viewpoint and fairness are important for selecting the best person for the job. Errors in assessment or perceptive filters, e.g. through relationships or power structures, may be avoided using potential analyses.

Creating a talent pool (Development Center)
It is in both your employees' and your company's best interest to identify high/top potential employees who are best suited for further qualification in the future. Your employees want to know where they stand in the company, as well as their individual career chances.

Potential analysis demonstrates your interest as a company in the targeted promotion of your best performers and allows for tailor-made development measures. It is a sign of esteem and promotes employee retention.

Demographic changes also enable companies to plan in the long term who will replace their top peformers in the future.

Mergers and strategy changes (Management Audit)
After a merger, it is useful to ascertain basic, current, internal corporate HR potential. Who is best suited to which position? Who fits in with the corporate culture and corporate strategy? What measures do we have to take to facilitate employee adjustment to the new situation?

Clear answers about termination, retention, job enrichment and job rotation are provided with potential analysis.

Investment decisions (Management Audit)
If you are considering investing in another company, you need an assessment of the management qualities of this organization. A management audit provides insight into the quality and/or leadership profile of the management team and their working relationship.

Venture capitalist companies have now become a lot more careful with cash flow – and rightly so. A good business idea is not always enough for a company to be successful. Management skills are a key factor for success, which are recorded in potential analyses.

Strengthening teamwork (Team Audit)
Teams are made up of various employees with different personality profiles. This is important to balance out weaknesses, but can also cause conflict.

Potential and team analyses facilitate awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of individual employees, as well as the team as a whole, and promote mutual understanding. Feedback to individual team members and the entire team stimulates development, which can significantly increase teamwork and efficiency.

As you can see, there are a lot of good reasons to choose potential analysis. What are yours? Contact us.
