Introduction

The mission of the myTURN app is to guide von Rundstedt clients on their journey of career change, helping them to be more productive and successful in finding the right next career move.  

We believe it is our duty to be as transparent as possible with you about the Personal Data we collect from you, or that you provide to us and how it will be processed by us. 

Von Rundstedt collects and uses Personal Data only in accordance with European and National Data Protection Legislation. 

When you use our services, you do so on the basis of this Privacy Policy. We give our users the opportunity to change settings regarding the Personal Data we collect in accordance with this privacy Policy.   

Controller

v. Rundstedt & Partner GmbH (hereinafter "von Rundstedt") acts as controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, as such, determines the purposes and means of the processing of your Personal Data

As a client of von Rundstedt, the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Date is subject to this Privacy Policy and other documents referenced in this Privacy Policy and any updates thereto. 

1. Personal Data collected by us 

1.1 Personal Data provided by you 

Registration 

When you use our services, you choose to provide us with certain Personal Data. When you create an account, you need to provide, at a minimum, your login information, including your name, email address, and a password, as well as some basic details necessary to run the particular service. 

When you install the App and create a profile, we collect and process some or all of the following Personal Data about you: 

  • Email address (required) 
  • Last name (required) 
  • First name (required) 
  • Profile picture (optional) 
  • City of residence (optional) 
  • Zip code (optional) 
  • Profession (optional) 
  • Phone number (optional) 

Through this registration process, you will create a universal von Rundstedt profile that will allow you to access other von Rundstedt products and features in addition to the myTURN app. 

If you have already registered for a von Rundstedt profile beforehand, at this point registration is not needed and you can log in immediately using your email address and the password chosen for the von Rundstedt profile. The Personal Data mentioned in the previous section, which is required for registration, will in this case be automatically taken from your von Rundstedt profile.     

Profile 

You have choices about the information on your profile, such as education, work experience, skills, photo and location or region. You are not obliged to provide additional information on your profile. However, such additional profile information helps us to make better use of our services, e.g. because it enables us to send you more suitable vacancies.  

1.2 Personal Data that is collected automatically 

As part of your use of the myTURN App, we automatically collect Personal Data that is required for the use of the app. This includes internal device ID, version of your operating system, time of access, IP address, content of access. 

This Personal Data is automatically collected (1) to provide you with the service and related features, (2) to improve the functions and performance features of the App, and (3) to prevent and remedy misuse and malfunctions. This serves to ensure the functionality and error-free operation of the App and to be able to offer a service that is in line with the market and interests. 

1.3 Use of the services 

When you use our services, we collect Personal Data about what features you used, how you used them, and what devices you use to access our services. You can find more details about this below: 

We log usage data, for example, when you view or click on content or ads. We use login credentials, cookies, device information, and Internet Protocol ("IP") addresses to identify you and log your usage. 

When using the App for the first time, you have the option to agree to the storage of usage data as well as to reject it. You can subsequently adjust these settings in your profile at any time.  

1.4 Other 

Our services are dynamic, and we often introduce new features. Therefore, new information may need to be collected. If we collect other material Personal Data or make material changes to how we collect, use or share your information, we will notify you and may also modify this Privacy Policy. We may also notify you of these changes.  

2. How we use your Personal Data 

2.1 Services 

We strive to only show you content that is relevant, interesting, and customized to you. Therefore, we use your Personal Data to improve your individual myTURN usage - including in the following cases: 

To identify you when you use myTURN. For recommending vacancies, blog articles, videos, topics or categories that, judging from your activities on myTURN, may be relevant to you.  

Our services allow you to stay up to date on news, events, and ideas regarding professional topics that are important to you. Our Services also enable you to expand your professional knowledge. We use the Personal Data we have about you (e.g., Data you provide to us, Data we collect through your interaction with our services, and inferences we draw from the Data about you) to personalize our services for you, for example, by recommending appropriate content on our services or sorting it by relevance. 

In addition to the above circumstances, we use your Personal Data only with your consent for the following purposes: 

To send you push notifications, depending on your account and operating system settings. These are used to send you further information with reminders about your vacancies, appointments and to-dos, among other things. You always have the option to unsubscribe from these. We will only contact you via push notifications. 

The myTURN App also requires the following permissions: 

  • Internet access: this is required to save your entries on our servers. 

  • Calendar access: This is required so that you can synchronize your appointments with your private calendar. 

  • Device storage: this is required if the option of uploading a resume or photos is taken. 

Permissions to access the above functions are explicitly requested at the latest when they are first used on the device and can be confirmed or denied. 

A granted authorization can normally be cancelled at any time in the settings of the device (however, this depends on the device and the operating system). 

Permissions that have not been granted restrict the use of the App. All functions not affected by the permission can still be used. 

2.2 Development of our services 

We use data and feedback from our users to drive further development for our services and to provide you and other users with a better, more intuitive and personalized experience and open the way to new professional opportunities. 

3. Your options and obligations 

Storage of Personal Data 

In general, we will keep your Personal Data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide you with the service. As a guideline, Personal Data is stored in the myTURN App for a maximum period of 14 months, after which it is either stored in anonymized form or irrevocably deleted. 

This includes Personal Data that you or others provide to us as well as Personal Data generated or derived through the use of our services.  

When von Rundstedt uses machine learning, Personal Data may need to be kept for longer periods of time in order for the machine learning to function properly. We regularly review how long Personal Data is required for machine learning and delete any identifiable information when it is no longer needed. 

4 Other Important Information 

4.1 Changes to this Privacy Policy  

Changes to this Privacy Policy will apply to your use of our services from the "Effective Date". 

von Rundstedt can modify this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you through our services or by other means, to provide you the opportunity to review the changes before they become effective. If you object to any changes, you may have your user profile deleted.  

You acknowledge that by your continued use of our services after we publish or send a notice about our changes to this Privacy Policy means that the collection, use and sharing of your Personal Data is subject to the updated Privacy Policy as of its effective date. 

4.2 Legal Basis for Processing 

We will only collect and process Personal Data about you only if there is an appropriate legal basis for doing so. This includes Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent) and/or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of contract with you) and/or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). 

5. Involvement of External Service Providers, Data Transfer to Third Parties 

5.1 Involvement of External Service Providers 

For the provision of the myTURN App or to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, we cooperate with external technical service providers (e.g. website hosting, maintenance of mail servers). Your Personal Data will be transferred to these external technical service providers only to the extent that is necessary for carrying out the abovementioned services. 

Of course, we carefully select the service providers who support us in performing the aforementioned tasks and demand that they process your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and existing order processing agreements. The service providers commissioned by us process the Personal Data transferred in accordance with our instructions. 

5.2 Data Transfer to Third Parties 

Besides that, we only transfer the Personal Data that we collect and process in accordance with sections 2 to 5, to third parties, if you have given us your prior consent unless expressly stated otherwise in this Privacy Policy. -  

In addition, we transmit your data to third parties if we are required to do so by law or by court or official orders. 

6. Your Rights 

You have the right to request access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDRP). In addition, you may request rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), deletion (Art. 17 GDPR) and portability (Art. 20 GDPR) of your Personal Data.  

You can object to (Art. 21 DSGVO) or restrict (Art. 18 GDPR) the processing of your Personal Data. 

You can revoke any consent granted to us for the processing of your Personal Data at any time with effect for the future. 

For asserting your rights, please use the contact details provided to you under section 1. 

Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 

Information Concerning Your Right to Object (Art. 21 GDPR) 

General Right to Object (Art. 21 (1) GDPR). 

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your Personal Data which is based on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (e) (public interest) or Art. 6 (1) (f) (legitimate interest) 

Right to Object to direct marketing (Art. 21 (2) DSGVO). 

You can also object to the processing of your Personal Data for direct marketing purpose at any time - without giving reasons.
